Why does some con always bring up Gore on global warming?

Here I am, always citing well established scientific organizations like the:


- U.S. Geological Survey


- American Chemical Society,


- Geological Society of America,


- American Meteorology Society,


- U.S. National Academy of Science,


- American Geophysical Union,


- Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change,


- American Association for the Advancement of Science,


- NOAA's National Climatic Data Center,


- National Center for Atmospheric Research,


- and the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies.





and here they are bringing up Gore once again. I never cited him. It seems to me that they have been conditioned to ignore the mainstream scientific concensus on man made global warming and just attribute everything to Al Gore.

Why does some con always bring up Gore on global warming?
Because whether you like it or not, Al Gore hijacked the issue from you. You will have to loudly, publicly and persistently take it back from him if you do not want him to represent you.





I do not blame you for not wanting him to represent you.





I certainly do not want him to represent my views. As far as I am concerned Al Gore has no credibility on any issue.





I recommend: contact as many members of the media as you can, call in to talk shows, both liberal and conservative.





State clearly in no uncertain terms that you do not consider


Al Gore to be competent on this issue.





Also state that Al Gore started a company to sell phony carbon credits to people who use large amount of fossil fuels and that Al Gore will make hundreds of millions of dollars from that business. Al Gore has a conflict of interest on this issue. Al Gore is just trying to make some money off this issue. He is not trying to solve the problem.





Also that Al Gore uses tens of times more energy in his mansions than the average family of 4 and that he flys all over the place on private jets that use over 1,000 times the amount of fossil fuel per mile as the most wasteful SUV.





Also state very clearly that Al Gore has no credibility on any issue as far as you are concerned.





Then start talking about the competent scientists and explain why they are the ones who should be taken seriously and not Al Gore..





Unfortunately Al Gore hijacked this issue from you. Until you loudly and publicly take it back from him Al Gore is the Albatross that you will have hanging around your neck on this issue.

Reply:Because one of the most liberal magazines on the market just had the audacity to proclaim him an "EcoSavant' and he stood up and took the honors in spite of the fact that not one of the organizations you just listed have seen fit to give him any sort of award or, even a decent review of his work in the area.





If the libs would give it up and admit his docudrama was little more than that, perhaps cons would not feel so obligated to point the fact out as often.

If you haven't figured it out yet, the earth has been getting


warmer for several years, then it will get cooler, and then


it will get warmer. This is a natural cycle, you are using


the same types of scientists that believe in the big bang


theory, yet they aren't smart enough to look at the history


of the climate for more than 7 or 8 years.





According to the Mayan calendar, you won't have anything


to worry about after 2012, not that this is biblical but


for the non-believers they can have a date to go by.

Reply:Because Al Gore is a hypocrite. He has not altered his own personal life as an example. Of course, he was raised to feel privliged while using others.





He is arrogant and bitter and I find it very difficult to swallow anything he says.





The cause of Global Warming certainly needs a better more qualified, better communicator, less egotistical person to convince people this is something we all need to combat not just the peons that are only good for taxes and votes.

Reply:because Gore chose to make himself the poster child for "man made" global warming which is complete garbage. that being said... most of the "scientific evidence" is actually just theory. I mean really... what is their basis for comparison? We know that the earth has gone through climate changes... (i.e. Ice age..) was there accurate information recorded then for a comparison. How far does accurate measurements go? a hundred years... and that is enough to base the global cycle when the earth has been around for thousands of years. And what does account for global warming and cooling in ancient history? And yes... there are plenty of scientists who don't believe in man made global warming either and they have theories that are just as good and credible.

Sure, pal, because any American over the age of 40 has already lived through at least 3 environmental, end of the world scenerios. And some of us already have our own end of the world scenerio that predates Al Gore by 2000 years.

Personally I don't think anyone can refute that the world has seen a warming trend, but is it possible for that to just be a natural course? I mean, I remember hearing something about how decades ago there was a global cooling trend and scientists everywhere swore up one side and down the other that we were in the beginnings of another ice age.





Cite all the alternative sources you want, but Gore's name will without a doubt always come up. Until he stops hopping into his personal jet to fly cross country to give a speech about how hopping into personal jets to fly everywhere is killing our planet you are going to get that argument from everyone.





Not to mention... haven't you heard? Through exhaustive and extensive research there has recently been a breakthrough on how to combat global warming! Everyone in the world uses only one square of toilet paper per trip to the restroom! Forgive me for not taking this problem as seriously as the libs who think up the solutions. Thanks to Sheryl Crow I will have a hard time ever taking the problem seriously.
