Could you correct my writing (grammar, language structure)?

Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) is a region in Northeastern Alaska, untouched by the civilizations. It is known for its biological diversity and many species of animal dwell in that land. Coastal plain or 1002 area is highly considered as petroleum rich site and organizations, government have been debating on this issue whether they should drill oil (development in biologically rich land) or preserve the nature (conservation perspective). No one really knows how much oil is in the refuge. 1998 U.S. Geological survey estimated the area could yield between 3 and 16 million barrels of oil.

• Not many animals use the coastal plain area frequently. Despite 30 years of drilling oil at Prudhoe bay (near coastal plain) wildlife are still healthy. These creatures usually can co-exist with development and it wouldn’t be a huge problem for animals to survive. Even though the North Slope has developed for 40 years, the number of caribou and animals increased from 3000 to 23400.
